| At Pilsner Urquell, 14 brewing units (kettle and lauter tun) produce the well-known pilsen beer. The photo on the left hand shows the six units in the "Old Brewhouse", in the background of the photo an the right hand you can see the 16 vessels of the "New Brewhouse", which has 8 brewing units. The beer is traditionally brewed by hand. | ||||||||

| Although most of the wort is fermented is huge cylindriconical tanks, old-fashioned tubs and barrels are still in useand serve as a living museum. On the right hand you can see a barrel-lifter to place a barrel on top of an other. | ||||||||
